A wedding from a different view

It was such a different way of being apart of a wedding. I’m usually there from start to finish documenting the day as it unfolds. This time around it was my turn to wear a different pair of shoes.

My friend Holly was marrying the man of her dreams and I was honored to be her matron of honor. The day unfolded beautifully 🙂

Thank you Megan Siana Rebeca Irene & Dan Rarela for teaming up and photographing Holly & Erik’s wedding so beautifully.

Here’s some photos showing the many roles I played…

Hairstylist… (thank you angry birds for making my 3 year old sit still for me)

dress tier-upper (why can’t wedding dresses have zippers!)

Nose picker 🙂

Photographer! Only for about 5 mins 😦

Two of my images from my 5 mins of shooting…

videographer…

(side note…look at my back! No butt crack baby!!! If you follow my blog you will have read that my dress was too tight and made me have a butt crack in my back. Thanks to Cage fitness I got rid of it :))

I lost 3.2 percent body fat from the middle of January to the end of April!

Before and after photos! Thankfully nobody had to see that nasty crack at the wedding!

My BEAUTIFUL kids…

being a mom never stopped that day…

I was so proud of Travis & Danyka. They did an awesome job being the ring bearer and flower girl.

I love how Danyka is looking at my mom in the isle. She loves her grandma!

Drink getter for the bride and groom (dan is focused!)

Shoe putter-oner…(I know my words are not real but I like it)

Speech time!!! I didn’t realize I talk with my hands 🙂

Dancing with my sweet boy!

Seeing this melted my heart! It made me think of her wedding day dancing with her daddy.

Will & I with the newlyweds 🙂

My Valentine’s Day present

I burn myself EVER time I use the oven. There’s no way around it. It just happens!

I loved my present. Most women would have wanted chocolates or roses but not me. I would much rather have oven mitts 🙂 Thank you Will for buying me something that is going to protect me rather than add inches to my belly or die in a few days 🙂

Angela’s 16th Birthday

As I drove up the 5 fwy I was a little nervous. Why? 1. it was super windy. 2. I was on my way to photograph 13 teenage girls!

Angela didn’t want to have a normal birthday party. She wanted to have a fun day with her friends looking fabulous in front of the camera. They spent the morning getting their makeup done and met me after for a few hours of shooting. Thankfully the wind died down and the girls were the exact opposite of what I expected them to be. I couldn’t have had more fun shooting them 🙂 As I drive to Vegas today to photograph my cousin Alexa’s sweet 16 birthday party, I will think of these girls and how easy and fun it was to hangout and shoot them and cross my fingers that the kids in Nevada are just as good to me 🙂

The gorgeous birthday girl! 🙂

And the rest of the beautiful girls…

Angela’s mom set everything up and she did an awesome job making the day just right for Angela.

Thank you girls for such a fun day!

Cage Fitness

I regret that I never took before photos of myself before I started Cage Fitness but you can take my word for it that it’s a perfect way to help you loose weight and gain muscle. Which I had non of when I started. Muscle that is…I had plenty of weight to loose!  So, I’m using my blog as a way to keep myself accountable. Here’s the deal…I need to loose a few more pounds and tone up to fit into a bridesmaids dress for my friends wedding in March. I am embarrassed to admit it but when I zip up my dress it looks like I have a butt crack in the middle of my back because my dress is too tight. Nasty I know! My plan is to show you my butt crack (before) photo right next to my NO butt crack (after) photo and prove to you that Cage Fitness is amazing and works. In the mean time, meet Brandi. She is a mom of handsome boys who kicked booty to get her body back into shape after having her second son.

Momtourage

This morning was our first momtourage meeting!

Wondering what Momtourage is?

It’s a place for moms to get together with other moms to build friendships, be encouraged in the different stages in our lives.

Honestly, when I fist signed up to be apart of this group back in 2007 I ONLY signed up because one mom asked me to and I felt bad for saying no. I thought that I would have NOTHING in common with these women. Really in my head I was thinking OLD women…SORRY LADIES! At the time I was 23 and it seemed like every other mom I saw was way older than me. Why would I want to hang out with moms who were 5, 10, 15 years older than me?

Fast forward to present day and I can honestly say that these “OLD” women have been such a big part of who I am as a mother, wife, and friend. I now realize that no matter what age you are. If you are a mother you can relate at any age. Thank you momtourage moms for being amazing friends to me and I’m sorry for calling you old! 🙂

I walked in and this LOVELY treat was waiting for me 🙂

Then more treats for breakfast! Pumpkin cream cheese muffins…yummy 🙂

A moment…

I’m not saying that this pic is gonna win an award or anything but I LOVE it. You know why?

I see Nancy & Jose  twice a week when our kids are running around at their Tae Kwon Do class and we get 30 whole minutes to just sit and watch. For us stay at home mommies you know you NEVER get 30 minds to just sit. Once we hear “class dismissed” it’s back to chaos. Trying to get the kids in the car and back home to continue what we didn’t finish before we left.

SO…I love this photo because when Nancy & Jose got a night away to celebrate a Lyssa’s graduation. I got to see them without the everyday chaos. They were just in their moment so in love. Even if it was only a moment. They stopped and took it.

Booked for 2009

Just wanted to give an update and let all of my thousands of blog readers know that I am completely booked for the rest of 2009. Just kidding, well only about the thousands of blog reader part…I am booked for the rest of 2009! The only exception will be for newborns sessions, I can fit those in 🙂

So what’s a blog post without a picture…

This is at Fort Campbell Kentucky. Where my brother is stationed. I visited a few weeks ago and thought this is a perfect shot to post for Veterans Day.

A day in Pasadena

I finally set aside a day just for me to get out and play with my camera. I went with my friend Megan who got some different shots from the day so check out her blog post. We wanted to play around with the sun a bit. I never have been able to get sun bursts in my shots before. I read this blog post from MCP Actions and realized what I was doing wrong. Now I got it! With a bit more practice I think I can get some great sun bursts, maybe something to hang in my house 🙂

I wanted to practice with different meter settings and white balance. So Megan was my BEAUTIFUL model!!!

We even met this little cutie 🙂 I think I want one 🙂

My new lens

I just got my new 50mm lens. I wanted to test it out so I took some pics of the kids in the backyard. I really like it so far. I just have to get used to not being able to zoom. Here’s some of the pics I took with it…
